KIMColin: 2 Shows, 1 Rug

KIMColin is keeping busy in Seoul.

Unpointable Things at ten to the n Gallery

The show “Unpointable Things” is a show curated by JaeWon KIm, who wanted to show works that poetically uses objects in respect of the time dimension. The curator says KIMColin’s work was the seed of the show because he specifically chooses objects that represent the past, present and future to tell his story in the now. The show (March 10-30) took place at ten to the n Gallery run by Total Art Museum under the direction of Boseul Shin located in Yeonhui-dong, Seoul.

Still Life at Gallery ONDO

Gallerist Seyeon Lim put together “Still Life” - a show critiquing the turmoil of present Korean politics. The Korean art scene has been profoundly impacted. The artists themselves have navigated personal, physical and mental health challenges, wrestled with identity crises, and endured various hardships. Yet they persist in creating art, crafting beauty, and ultimately affirming life's resilience. The exhibition started March 19 and runs until April 13 at Gallery ONDO - a space promising to nurture and support artistic growth, together.

Cultural X Collabs - Weaving the Future

On another note, KIMColin was chosen for the Museum for Islamic Art - Staatliche Museen zu Berlin’s “Cultural X Collabs - Weaving the Future” project. This transregional participatory project aims to promote ways of cultural exchange while making social connections “tangible.”

KIMColin received piece #96 of 100 fragments of a 400-year-old Caucasian dragon rug replica. All 100 pieces of the replica rug are scheduled to travel the world until 2027. KIMColin is planning to use the fragment in a still-life, and also for personal and Korean cultural short-form content.
